Administration:

Pacific Academy is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 independent school located in Surrey, British Columbia and is a place where students receive the very best academic and spiritual education. 

We welcome applications for a Financial Accountant in the Finance Department at Pacific Academy.  The position reports directly to the Director of Finance.  We are looking for someone who is creative, efficient and able to work independently and collaboratively.  We are a small, tight knit team who like to laugh and enjoy our days working together in an open office.  

Qualifications:

  • Actively and personally support the Pacific Academy Statement of Faith
  • Hold an accounting degree or designation and/or have commensurate experience
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to evaluate current business processes and make improvements
  • Be capable or experienced in accounting systems and/or ERP implementation
  • High degree of technical competence in Excel and accounting software
  • Detail orientated
  • Be professional and discreet
  • Demonstrate strong collaborative and interpersonal skills; able to work well in teams

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of financial statements for multiple societies
  • Analyze data and create and present financial reports
  • Preparation of Annual Audit binder and working papers
  • Preparation of T3010 for multiple entities
  • Oversee the implementation of a new accounting system
  • Full cycle accounting entries and reports
  • Establishing systems of internal controls
  • Bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts
  • Credit card reconciliations
  • Quarterly GST rebate submission

This is a part time (0.8 FTE), full year position and includes a full benefits package.

Teachers (Temporary):

Pacific Academy is requesting applications from qualified individuals for a temporary full-time Grade 8 teaching position from April 26 – June 30, 2021.   This position is available due to an upcoming maternity leave. 

Qualifications:

Candidates should:

  • Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate
  • Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
  • Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
  • Be fluent in oral and written English
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively, and be willing to cooperate in the planning and implementation of project based units with the grade team
  • Experience or willingness to participate in outdoor education planning and trips (ie. Hiking, canoeing, snowshoeing essential)

Education Assistants:

Pacific Academy is seeking trained applicants interested in joining our school team to provide support for students.

Qualifications:

  • Education Assistant certificate
  • Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Downs Syndrome, Behaviour Disorders an asset
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
  • Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
  • Friendly, flexible, self-motivated, team player
  • Fluent in oral and written English

Responsibilities may include

  • Provide support to students within the regular classroom and the Learning Support Centre
  • Assisting with the implementation of IEP and Support Plans under the direction of the Learning Support Coordinator
  • Working as part of a team of Education Assistants under the direction of the Learning Support Coordinator
  • Assist students during emotional outbursts using non-violent crisis intervention strategies

Facilities and Support:

Pacific Academy is requesting applications from individuals for a part-time (1 day a week for 2 hours) / casual crossing guard position in Primary School. This is for before (7:30 – 8:30am) and after school (2:15pm – 3:15pm) one day a week, as well as on-call shifts.

Qualifications:

Candidates should:

  • Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith

  • Be willing to submit to a criminal record check

  • Be a team player 

No experience is required. Training will be provided.
