Pacific Academy serves over 1400 Jr K - Grade 12 students in modern, well-equipped facilities on a forty-acre campus.

Pacific Academy is inviting applications from qualified teachers for the 2018-19 school year.  We are anticipating openings at the following grade levels/subjects:

  • Middle School Teacher (6-8)
    • 2 – 1.0 FTE teaching positions (temporary)
    • 1 – 0.5 FTE Instructional Coach (3 year term)
  • High School (9-12)  
    • 1.0 FTE Chemistry/Math (permanent)
    • 0.4 FTE High School Career Education Coordinator (permanent)
    • 0.6 FTE High School Guidance Counselor (permanent)
    • 0.5 FTE Instructional coach (3 year term)

Candidates should:

  • Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate
  • Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
  • Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
  • Be fluent in oral and written English

High School Career Education Coordinator (0.4 FTE)

The purpose of the Career Education Coordinator at Pacific Academy is to develop, implement, and oversee the Career Education curriculum for students in grades 9 through 12 with the aims and intents of the revised BC curriculum and vision/mission of Pacific Academy.

The successful candidate will:

  • Grow and develop the Career Education program
  • Provide guidance and support for teachers in implementing the Career Education curriculum.
  • Communicate program goals and initiatives with students and parents
  • Facilitate group interactions, guest speakers, alumni connections, work-experience, field-trips, and online learning.
  • Oversee the assessment and reporting process of Career Education courses.
  • Use relevant data to engage in ongoing reflection, evaluation, and refinement of the Career Education program.
  • Network with Career Education coordinators in other schools, and attending career education professional development events.
  • Assist with the planning and hosting of learning with the Guidance Counselor.
  • Work closely and effectively with the Guidance Counselor.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned by the high school administration.

  • A collaborator, being able to work with school administration and staff to develop cross-curricular opportunities for the integration of Career Education learning standards and big ideas.

High School Guidance Counselor (0.6FTE)

The purpose of the High School Guidance Counselor at Pacific Academy is to provide personalized and caring support for students in all areas related to academic guidance.

The successful candidate will:

  • Communicate relevant school guidance information to students in a variety of formats
  • Assist in the scheduling of students and schedule changes.
  • Advise students in course planning, education and career planning, and financial aid.
  • Oversee the planning and hosting of events with the assistance of the Career Education Coordinator.
  • Communicate support and guidance services with prospective and current high school students and parents.
  • Support graduating students with post-secondary and scholarship applications.
  • Network with guidance counselors in other schools, and attend related events hosted by both high schools and post-secondary institutions.
  • Be a contributing member of the School Based Resource Team.
  • Create learning experiences that support transition from Middle School to High School.
  • Work closely with the Career Education Coordinator.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned by the high school administration.

The successful candidate will be:

  • An advocate for students and committed to their spiritual, academic, social, and physical well-being.
  • A collaborator, in particular being able to work effectively with all members of the Student Services team at Pacific Academy.
  • Knowledgeable and adept at navigating and utilizing computer software (such as PCR and Google Suite for Education).


 Instructional Coach (both Middle (6-8) and High (9-12) school)

The purpose of an Instructional Coach at Pacific Academy is to enhance student learning by supporting teachers in the design and implementation of research-based pedagogies.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work collaboratively with the administrative team and teaching staff to articulate Pacific Academy’s aims for learning and teaching.
  • Support teachers in developing and implementing growth plans consistent with the aims of the school.
  • Provide resources and perspectives to support a continued shift from outcomes-based education to competency-based education, including planning, lesson design, assessment, and reporting.
  • Use relevant data to engage in ongoing reflection, evaluation, and refinement of instructional practices for improved student achievement.

The successful candidate will be:
