Pacific Academy is seeking trained and experienced applicants to join our school to provide extracurricular programs after school. This is a part-time position commencing in September 2024.

Job Description:

As an After School Program Instructor, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students in various educational and recreational activities. Your role will involve planning, organizing, and leading structured sessions in one or more of the following areas: 

- All kinds of Sports
- Fine Art or Crafts
- Martial Art 
- Coding 
- Science (STEM) 
- Mathematics
- English (Reading/Writing/Speaking) 
- Chess
- Debate 
- Drama/Theater
- Dance 
- Foreign Languages 
- Other engaging clubs

Qualifications:

Candidates should have:

• Passion for working with children and promoting positive development
• Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is preferred
• Pursuing or holding a Bachelor of Education, ECE (Early Childhood Education), or equivalent work experience/qualification is preferred
• Ability to effectively manage groups of students and adapt to varying needs and abilities
• Enthusiasm for the subject areas you will be instructing
• Flexibility and willingness to collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals
• Understanding of and commitment to Christian Education 
• Active and personal support of a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith 
• Criminal Record Check 
   

Responsibilities may include:

• Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate activities for children in the after-school program. 
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by supervising activities and maintaining a safe environment. 
• Collaborate with other program staff to ensure the smooth operation of the program and the success of all students. 
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, dismissal, behavior, and program activities. 
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment. 
• Picking up students from their classrooms and bringing them to the after-school program classrooms

Pacific Academy is inviting applications from qualified individuals for a full-time, continuing Outdoor Education teacher position in the High School. This position will commence in August 2024.
 

Qualifications:

Successful candidates should:

• Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate
• Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
• Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
• Be fluent in oral and written English
• Have an ability to teach various courses which may include: Social Studies, English, Physical and Health Education, Christian Perspectives, or other relevant subjects
• Be able to collaborate on the development and implementation of Career Education with the High School Guidance Counsellor
• Be experienced in some or all of the following areas of instruction: canoeing (flat and moving water), hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, backcountry travel
• Hold suitable certifications related to outdoor education, or be willing to complete coursework within the year toward their attainment
• Have a willingness to attend all Summit trips, including monthly day trips, 8-10 multi-day backcountry trips, and 2-3 multi-day overseas trips

Pacific Academy is seeking trained applicants interested in joining our school to provide extracurricular dance instruction to students.

Responsibilities may include:

• Preparing lessons each week for classes in a specific style
• Choreographing age-appropriate routines for performances and/or competitions using clean, wholesome music
• Providing high-level instruction to all students in the class and teaching to the various levels and abilities
• Creating a fun atmosphere and inspiring children with your love of dance
• Picking up students from their classrooms and bringing them to the dance studio

Qualifications:

• Dance training: an experienced dancer who has trained intensely at high levels, including competitions and ballet examinations
• Minimum 1 yr experience teaching dance classes
• Criminal Record Check
• Understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
• Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
• Friendly, flexible, self-motivated, team player
• Fluent in oral and written English
