High School Outdoor Education Teacher – 1.0 FTE Continuing position
Pacific Academy is inviting applications from qualified individuals for a full-time, continuing Outdoor Education teacher position in the High School. This position will commence in August 2026.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates should:
- Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate
- Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
- Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
- Be fluent in oral and written English
- Have an ability to teach various courses which may include: Social Studies, English, Physical and Health Education, Christian Perspectives, Anatomy & Physiology, or other relevant subjects
- Be experienced in some or all of the following areas of instruction: canoeing (flat and moving water), hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, backcountry travel
- Hold suitable certifications related to outdoor education, such as avalanche training and wilderness first-aid
- Have a willingness to attend all Summit trips, including monthly day trips, 8-10 multi-day backcountry trips, and 2-3 multi-day overseas trips
- Hold a Class-2 bus license
