Before and After School Care Worker

Pacific Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and competent individual to join our Before and After School Care (BASC) team. The BASC Worker will provide a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students outside regular school hours. We are committed to developing a high-quality program with a creative, friendly team that works collaboratively to support our students. This position is open until filled.

Duties:

• Supervise and engage with students during before and after school care hours.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Lead and direct group activities, using appropriate guiding and caring techniques for school-aged children.
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students to build positive relationships and ensure clear understanding.
• Ensure the safety, well-being, and appropriate behaviour of all students in the program.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe space in accordance with school policies and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

• Support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith and participate in a local church
• Responsible Adult certification (20 hours of courses related to childcare)
• Emergency First Aid CPR/AED Level C (Current certification required)
• Valid Criminal Record Check
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an asset
• Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is preferred

Scheduled hours:
Candidates may choose to work during school days, non-school days, or both, with options for mornings,
afternoons, or a combination of both.
