Financial Accountant

Pacific Academy is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 independent school located in Surrey, British Columbia and is a place where students receive the very best academic and spiritual education. 

We welcome applications for a Financial Accountant in the Finance Department at Pacific Academy.  The position reports directly to the Director of Finance.  We are looking for someone who is creative, efficient and able to work independently and collaboratively.  We are a small, tight knit team who like to laugh and enjoy our days working together in an open office.  


  • Actively and personally support the Pacific Academy Statement of Faith
  • Hold an accounting degree or designation and/or have commensurate experience
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to evaluate current business processes and make improvements
  • Be capable or experienced in accounting systems and/or ERP implementation
  • High degree of technical competence in Excel and accounting software
  • Detail orientated
  • Be professional and discreet
  • Demonstrate strong collaborative and interpersonal skills; able to work well in teams


  • Preparation of financial statements for multiple societies
  • Analyze data and create and present financial reports
  • Preparation of Annual Audit binder and working papers
  • Preparation of T3010 for multiple entities
  • Oversee the implementation of a new accounting system
  • Full cycle accounting entries and reports
  • Establishing systems of internal controls
  • Bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts
  • Credit card reconciliations
  • Quarterly GST rebate submission

This is a part time (0.8 FTE), full year position and includes a full benefits package.
