February 9, 2010
We have a great team going to Colombia. With 9 students, 3 leaders and 1 translator, we will arrive in Barranquilla on Feb. 10 to a balmy 32 degrees (90 F). Our first day will be orientation and introduction to the city and to the ministry down there. We will be working with a lady named Martha who runs a school of about 400 children from the local “squatters” neighbourhood. We will have Bible classes with these children. We will also visit other schools as well as participate in some outdoor evangelism in the local parks. Our first weekend there coincides with the famous Carnival so it was decided that we will go somewhere else during that time so we will be spending a couple of days in Cartagena, and yes…we will see the beautiful white beaches and clear blue water of the Caribbean …seeing as we will be at the northern coast of Colombia. Our contacts in Colombia have a weekly medical clinic for the indigenous people living nearby. We are taking supplies down and helping out in basic ways with this ministry. Thank you for your prayers…for safety, unity, and health and that we will be a blessing to the believers and a Godly testimony to all we meet.
