For many years, Christian educators in B.C. talked of the need for a very special school, one that would blend high academic standards, fine facilities and spiritual depth. They knew the impact that Godly lives and prepared minds could have on the community.
With the planting of a vision in the heart of Jim Pattison, a Vancouver-based industrialist and philanthropist, the dream could become a reality.
In September 1985, using the facilities of a former public school, Pacific Academy opened it's doors to the first 200 students under the principalship of Mr. Bob Pearson (1985-86). The school was located on a seven-acre site adjacent to Brookmere Park in Coquitlam, British Columbia.
In 1991, the school moved across the Fraser River to the present forty acre site in North Surrey.

Over the years buildings have been added and enrollment increased. With the completion of the Intermediate wing in September 2002, the school reached its target of 1400 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Although a number of building projects are planned, there are no plans to increase student capacity.
